About the maker
Rudolf Reist began making Schwyzerörgeli in Wasen in the 1960s; the maker dates its tradition to 1966. His son Fritz Reist joined in 1974, and Fritz Reist and Peter Wisler took over in 1987. Hans Ulrich Wermuth has run the present Aemmitaler Oergeli Manufaktur in Sumiswald since 2018.
The illustrated Simple is a compact two-voice Schwyzerörgeli. The maker offers cherry or walnut wood cases and describes a lightweight build with machine-made reeds and no inlay on the end boards.
