About the maker
The Yamaha brand traces its beginnings to Torakusu Yamaha's organ-making in Hamamatsu in 1887; Nippon Gakki was incorporated in 1897. Yamaha's museum dates the start of accordion manufacturing to 1933 and records both button and piano-key models. Later school ensemble instruments covered soprano through bass; the archived A-32E product page marks the alto model as discontinued. Pianica melodicas are a separate, current free-reed line.
The illustrated A-32E is an alto model in Yamaha's 32-key ensemble series. Its red marbled case and compact piano keyboard are based on the archived product photograph. The model is no longer in production.
