Mie Miki is a Japanese classical accordionist. After studying in Germany, she won the youth division of the Klingenthal International Accordion Competition in 1973 and 1974.
Her work includes solo recitals, chamber music and performances with orchestras. Composers have written new music for her; her recordings range from Baroque keyboard works to contemporary Japanese music. On Das wohltemperierte Akkordeon she played twelve preludes and fugues from Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier using the original keyboard score. Sonorities presents Japanese accordion music. Her recordings bring established keyboard works into conversation with new repertoire for the instrument.
