Ryota Komatsu is a Tokyo-born bandoneonist and composer. He made his recording debut with Sony Music in 1998 and has performed tango in Japan and Buenos Aires.
He also composes for television and film. His recordings include tango ensembles and collaborations with singers, as heard in Bandoneon Diary and the album tint with Taeko Onuki. On Bandoneon Diary he worked with tango musician José Colángelo and recorded an arrangement of Libertango. Tint pairs his bandoneon with Taeko Onuki’s singing. His work thus links the Argentine tango tradition with Japanese song and screen music.
