Stefan Hussong's repertoire spans Baroque music and contemporary composition. He performs transcriptions of earlier works alongside new pieces written for the accordion, and has premiered works by contemporary composers.
His recordings show how the instrument can handle very different musical textures: the layered counterpoint of Bach and the distinctive sound world of John Cage. He also teaches accordion at the University of Music Würzburg. Goldberg Variations – Fantasia “Bach” centres on Bach, while Dream records works by Cage. He places music from very different eras and approaches to notation within his accordion repertoire.
