The Fleet's a Coming

English traditional tune · piano · c. 1820 edition · one complete music page

The complete “The Fleet's a Coming” from A Selection of the Melodies of the Tyne and the Wear (p. 38). The source notation is for piano.

Playable score

The eight written 9/8 melody bars and two repeats of A Mile to Ride in Northumbrian Minstrelsy (1882) remain unchanged in the right hand. A simple bass and chords have been newly arranged for the left. This site's accompaniment does not reconstruct Topliff's different-meter piano setting of c. 1820 below.
